Description

A sturdy hand-thrown stoneware mug with a bold hand-painted cobalt blue foliate band around the body. The mug has a comfortable loop handle, a slightly flared rim and an unglazed foot with a maker's impressed oval mark; the mark appears to read a two-line oval with a script center (photographed). Heavy, utilitarian construction and a graphic midcentury-inspired motif make this suitable for everyday use or display. No visible chips or cracks in photos; interior shows typical light staining from use. Measures small to medium — see dimensions below.
