Description

Charming woven wicker container shaped like a hen with a removable lid that reveals an enamel-lined pitcher body. The piece combines natural wicker weaving with painted red wooden comb, beak and wattles and glass-button eyes; the interior is white enamel with a blue rim. A Shanghai Handicrafts sticker on the base notes it was made in the People’s Republic of China. Good vintage condition with light surface wear to wicker and paint, a few small scuffs on the enamel rim, and some dust in crevices as shown.
