Description

Unusual decorative woven gourd-shaped basket labeled “Shanghai Handicrafts” on the base. Handwoven wicker with a narrow neck and bulbous base, accented with thin reed straps and a wooden round base; the top is open with overlapping weave. Shows light surface wear, a few loose/weakened reeds and some scuffs to the base consistent with age and display use. A distinctive Asian export-style decorative piece that works as shelf or tabletop decor.
