Description

Hand-painted Russian-style lacquer box with a winter troika scene on the lid and a glossy black exterior with bright red painted interior. The lid shows three horses pulling a sleigh through snow with small village houses at the horizon; the artist signature appears on the lid. Solid lacquer construction with gilt border detailing and a hinged lid; surface shows light wear and small scuffs consistent with age but no major damage. Compact decorative box useful for jewelry or keepsakes, visually striking with the contrast of black exterior and red interior.
