Frequently asked questions

How long does an estate sale take?

Most estate sales require one to three weeks of preparation, depending on the size of the home and the amount of merchandise. The sale itself typically runs two to three days. We’ll work with you to establish a timeline that fits your needs.

What does it cost?

We work on commission, meaning there are no upfront or minimum fees for organizing, pricing, advertising, or conducting your estate sale. Additional services, such as estate cleanouts, are quoted separately.

Do I need to clean or sort anything first?

Not at all! We encourage you to leave items in place rather than spending time sorting, cleaning, or throwing things away. Our team handles the organization, research, pricing, and staging. You might be surprised by what has resale value!

What types of items do you sell?

We sell a wide variety of household items, including furniture, antiques, jewelry, collectibles, clothing, electronics, tools, kitchenware, and everyday household goods. We handle everything from valuable individual pieces to smaller items that add up over the course of a sale.

What happens to items that don’t sell?

After the sale, we’ll discuss your options for any remaining merchandise. Depending on your preferences, items can be retained, donated, or removed through our additional cleanout services. We’ll work with you to determine the best approach.

How do I know what my items sold for?

We carefully research and price items with the goal of selling as much as possible over the course of a typical three-day estate sale. Our pricing is designed to attract buyers while maximizing your overall proceeds. If you have certain items you'd like to receive a specific amount for, just let us know beforehand and we'll work with you to establish appropriate pricing. After the sale, we provide a detailed sales report so you can see what your items sold for.

Do I need to be present during the sale?

No! We handle the entire sale, including customer interactions, negotiations, transactions, and day-to-day operations. You’re welcome to be involved in the planning process, but there’s no need for you to be present during sale days.

Can I keep certain items or remove things before the sale?

Absolutely! Your belongings are yours to keep. We simply ask that you identify anything you’d like to retain before we begin preparing the sale. This allows us to establish an accurate inventory and avoid confusion during the process.

What if I don’t have enough items for a full estate sale?

Not every home is a good fit for a traditional estate sale, and that’s okay! We offer alternative solutions, including selective buyouts and consignment opportunities. During your free consultation, we’ll assess your situation and recommend the best option.

How and when will I receive my payment?

Following the sale, we’ll reconcile transactions, prepare your final sales report, and calculate your proceeds. Payment is typically issued by cashier’s check or via Zelle once the final accounting is complete.
